IDF: Hamas commander involved in October 7 attack neutralized
Jerusalem, July 10 (Hibya) - The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that Yahya Said Mohammed Hamdan, one of the leaders of Hamas' Nukhba unit, was neutralized in an airstrike carried out in the southern Gaza Strip.

According to the IDF statement, Hamdan allegedly took part in the October 7, 2023 attack on the Re'im base in southern Israel.
The statement further claimed that Hamdan had recently been involved in planning attacks against Israeli forces and in efforts to rebuild Hamas' military capabilities.
Israel stated that the individual posed an "immediate threat" to forces operating in the area and was therefore neutralized in a precision airstrike.
The IDF also said that units under the Southern Command continue to operate in the area in accordance with current operational plans and will continue their activities to eliminate emerging security threats.
