Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz commented in a social media post on the decision to establish a space brigade within the Israel Defense Forces.

Katz expressed his support for the policy aimed at transforming Israel into a space power in the security sector, describing the objective as "Blue-and-White Star Wars."

Katz stated that the goal set for the Israeli military and defense institutions is to make the country one of the world's leading nations in military space capabilities. He said the ability to monitor, protect and strike targets across vast areas from space would strengthen Israel's regional and global standing and provide deterrence against potential threats.

Katz also noted that, in addition to developing military space capabilities, investments in this field would accelerate research, entrepreneurship and production activities, while contributing to Israel's advancement in civilian space technologies.
