Israeli Defense Minister Katz: The Israeli army will remain on Mount Hermon and in the security zone
Jerusalem, August 26 (Hibya) – Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that, based on the lessons learned from the events of October 7, 2023, the Israeli army (IDF) will continue to remain on the summit of Mount Hermon and in the security zone near the Syrian border.
Katz stated that this military presence is intended to protect the settlements in the Golan Heights and the Galilee region against potential threats from Syria.
In his statement, Katz emphasized that Israel will continue to protect not only its citizens but also the Druze community living in Syria, stressing that the security policy in the region will be pursued with determination.
