Kallas: Moldova is part of Europe’s future
Brussels, May 8 (Hibya) - European Commission President Kaja Kallas stated that Moldova’s European path should be supported and proposed increasing the funds provided to the country under the European Peace Facility to 120 million euros.
Kallas, speaking in Chișinău on the eve of Europe Day, said that Moldova is part of Europe’s future.
Kallas argued that Russia’s hybrid attacks against Moldova continue and stated that the European Union and Moldova can act together to counter attempts aimed at undermining the country’s European path.
The Vice President of the European Commission announced that, in this context, she proposed increasing the support provided to Moldova through the European Peace Facility. Kallas stated that the proposal submitted to member states aims to raise the fund to 120 million euros and that these resources will be used to strengthen Moldova’s defense capacity.
