Kallas: We support Moldova’s defense modernization
Chisinau, May 7 (Hibya) - European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas stated during her meetings in Moldova’s capital Chisinau that they examined EU-supported defense equipment and that support for modernizing Moldova’s military capacity would be increased.

As part of her meetings in Moldova’s capital Chisinau, Kallas inspected new defense equipment financed by the EU on site. During the visit, Kallas also met with Moldova’s Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatîi.
Stating that the EU plays an important role in the modernization of the Moldovan Armed Forces, Kallas said, “We are helping Moldova modernize its armed forces.”
Kallas emphasized that the European Union is one of the largest providers of defense equipment to Moldova and said that further expansion of cooperation is planned.
During the meetings, strengthening Moldova’s defense capacity and increasing cooperation on regional security issues were discussed.
