In his statement, Prime Minister Kristersson announced the joint declaration of the Nordic-Baltic Eight leaders on Ukraine. Some excerpts from his remarks:

"We continue to support Ukraine and the efforts, including those of President Trump, to end Russia’s aggressive war against Ukraine.

The next step towards a just and lasting peace must be taken together with Ukraine. Only Ukraine can decide about its future. No decision about Ukraine can be made without Ukraine, just as no decision about Europe can be made without Europe.

Experience has shown that Putin cannot be trusted. Ultimately, it is Russia’s responsibility to end its actions that openly violate international law. Russia’s aggression and imperialist ambitions are the root cause of this war."
