Lahbib: Solidarity continues
Brussels, April 17 (Hibya) - The European Union (EU) announced that following the ceasefire declared in Lebanon, aid materials sent from member states have been delivered to meet urgent humanitarian needs.
EU Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib made a statement regarding the EU’s humanitarian aid efforts following the ceasefire in Lebanon.
Lahbib stated that the European Union is acting in solidarity to support around 1 million people in need.
The statement noted that essential aid materials sent by Belgium and Germany were delivered to Lebanon through coordination under the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
The aid packages included urgent supplies such as hygiene kits, ready-to-eat food, pillows, and blankets, aiming to alleviate the humanitarian situation after the ceasefire.
