Lahbib: We are taking action against manipulative content generated by artificial intelligence
Brussels, July 9 (Hibya) - European Union (EU) Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib stated that the EU Artificial Intelligence Act introduces important measures to combat manipulative and deceptive content created using artificial intelligence.
In a statement, European Union (EU) Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib stressed that no technology has the right to control individuals' bodies, images or consent.
Lahbib said that 98 percent of images manipulated using artificial intelligence are pornographic in nature, and that women are targeted in 99 percent of such content.
Noting that the European Union has taken action to address this issue, Lahbib stated that manipulative and deceptive artificial intelligence applications have been banned under the EU Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act), while online platforms have been obliged to remove illegal content.
