Lavrov: The US is pursuing a doctrine of dominance in global energy markets
Moscow, March 23 (Hibya) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov argued that the United States is pursuing a global dominance strategy by exerting pressure on countries that possess energy resources.
According to CCTV, in an interview given on Saturday, Lavrov claimed that Washington is ready to try every means—from coups to assassinations—to preserve its own prosperity.
According to official data, the Russian minister stated that US interests are always placed above international agreements and that oil is at the center of its energy policies.
Lavrov emphasized that the US has historically welcomed Russia’s exclusion from European energy markets and that this stance continues today.
It was stated that in order to resume cooperation with Russia, respect for Russia’s national interests must first be ensured. The statement also drew attention to the negative effects of disrupting global energy balances through political interventions on the world economy.
