Lazzarini: Palestinian refugees remain refugees due to the absence of a political solution
New York, 4 December (Hibya) – Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of UNRWA, emphasized that the situation of Palestinian refugees can only end through a comprehensive political solution.
Lazzarini stated that Palestinian refugees remain refugees because there is no political solution.
He noted that other refugees around the world have also been waiting for decades for a lasting political solution to their difficult circumstances, saying: “Eliminating UNRWA will not solve the problem; a political solution will.”
Lazzarini stressed that the answer to ending a situation that was expected to be temporary lies in investing in peace.
