Leyen: Europe’s energy system is cleaner, far more diverse and much more stable
Brussels, March 6 (Hibya) - European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that Europe’s energy system today is cleaner, far more diverse and much more stable compared to a few years ago.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said that Europe’s energy system today is cleaner, far more diverse and much more stable compared to a few years ago.
However, Leyen noted that developments in the Middle East once again remind us of the risks of still being too dependent on fossil fuels and said:
"This is why we must continue improving the functioning of our energy market, attract more investment in clean technologies and accelerate the transition to clean, domestic energy.
This is vital for our energy security, energy affordability and independence, as well as for our competitiveness."
