Macron discusses Middle East agenda with Trump
Paris, June 1 (Hibya) - French President Emmanuel Macron held talks with United States (US) President Donald Trump regarding developments in the Middle East.

Macron stated that he supports Trump's efforts to quickly reach an agreement between the United States and Iran, saying: "This agreement represents a unique opportunity to establish a new security framework bringing together all relevant actors and will help ensure lasting stability in the region."
Macron noted that France is ready to contribute to the international mission being carried out together with the United Kingdom and other partners, adding that, if an agreement is reached, this framework would contribute to the security of maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.
Macron also said: "I welcomed President Trump's commitment to Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity and emphasized the importance of a strong ceasefire; in addition, I highlighted the necessity of our collective support for the Lebanese authorities."
