Macron congratulated Zaydi on his new role and wished him success in this process, which is important for Iraq’s future. The meeting also emphasized the need to swiftly conclude the investigation into the March 12 attack in Makhmour, in which French soldier Arnaud Frion lost his life.
Macron stated that a stable and sovereign Iraq is important for the security of both the Middle East and Europe, adding that France will continue its cooperation with Iraq and further develop the strategic partnership.
