Macron says France supports European Commission on customs tariff issue
Paris, July 12 (Hibya) – French President Emmanuel Macron spoke about the 30% horizontal customs tariff to be imposed on European Union exports.
Macron stated that France has reacted very strongly to the announcement of a 30% tariff on EU exports starting from August 1.
He emphasized that now more than ever, the European Commission bears the responsibility of showing determination in defending Europe’s interests.
“In this context, France supports the European Commission and fully endorses intensifying the negotiations to reach a mutually acceptable agreement by August 1. This agreement should reflect mutual respect, shared interests, and integrated value chains between trading partners like the EU and the United States.”
