Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced that the Schengen free movement regime for sea and air travel with Spain has been temporarily suspended.

Meloni stated: “In order to safeguard national security and prevent potential risks to our country, the government has temporarily suspended the Schengen free movement regime for sea and air connections with Spain and has reintroduced border controls.”

Meloni noted that the measure would remain in force only for as long as necessary and that every effort would be made to minimize its possible impact on the summer tourism season.

She also said: “Italy is ready to support all European initiatives aimed at restoring full control over the European Union’s external borders with regard to Spain.”
