Meloni: Trentini and Burlo have been released
Rome, January 12 (Hibya) – Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced that two Italian citizens detained in Venezuela, Alberto Trentini and Mario Burlo, have been released and will return safely to Italy.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said in a statement:
“I welcome with great joy and satisfaction the release of our citizens Alberto Trentini and Mario Burlo; they are currently safe at Italy’s Embassy in Caracas. I have spoken with them, and a plane has already departed from Rome to bring them home.”
Meloni also stated that, on behalf of the government, she thanked the authorities in Caracas, particularly President Rodriguez, as well as all institutions and individuals in Italy for their cooperation.
