Metsola: A strategic step to optimize the use of the EU rail network
Brussels, 19 November (Hibya) – European Parliament President Roberta Metsola stated that the Railway Infrastructure Capacity Management Regulation, agreed upon this morning with the Council of the European Union, aims to improve service quality, strengthen reliability, and enhance cross-border coordination in rail transport across the EU.
In a statement on social media, Metsola said: “Better service, higher reliability, and stronger cross-border coordination. The Railway Infrastructure Capacity Management Regulation we agreed on this morning with the Council of the European Union aims precisely at achieving this.”
Metsola thanked the Chair of the European Parliament’s Transport Committee, Elena Kountoura (Vozemberg), the Rapporteur Tilly Metz, and the European Parliament team, emphasizing that the regulation is an important step toward optimizing the use of the EU’s rail network.
