Metsola: I am relieved that European Parliament staff are safe
Brussels, July 2 (Hibya) - European Parliament President Roberta Metsola stated that the accommodation where European Parliament staff were staying was hit following Russia's missile and drone attacks across Ukraine.
European Parliament President Roberta Metsola commented on the latest Russian air strikes targeting civilian areas across Ukraine, the situation of European Parliament staff working on the ground, and the casualties caused by the attacks.
Referring to the scale of the attacks and the Parliament's staff in the region, Metsola said: "Following last night's massive Russian missile and drone attack, Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities endured another horrific night. I am relieved that European Parliament staff are safe after the place where they were staying was struck."
Expressing her solidarity with the Ukrainian people affected by the attacks, President Metsola said: "My condolences go to those who have lost loved ones, to the injured, and to everyone who once again had to spend the night under attack."
