Brussels, June 15 (Hibya) - European Parliament President Roberta Metsola announced that the European Union (EU) has reached an agreement to strengthen air passenger rights after a 13-year negotiation process.

Metsola said the agreement will simplify compensation procedures for passengers, strengthen rights for passengers with disabilities and families, and increase transparency regarding hand luggage fees.
It was also stated that the right to compensation for delays exceeding 3 hours will be preserved.
