Metsola: They gave their lives for freedom, fought for peace
Brussels, May 7 (Hibya) – European Parliament President Roberta Metsola made a statement marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe.
President Metsola paid tribute to those who lost their lives during the war, commemorating them with respect on this historic anniversary.
"They fought so we could live in peace, and gave their lives so we could be free," said Metsola.
She emphasized that the European Parliament does not forget the fallen on this occasion, stating that their courage and sacrifice laid the foundation of today’s free Europe.
