President of Montenegro Milatovic stated that German philosopher Jürgen Habermas had passed away and said that Habermas's concept of “constitutional patriotism” is an important reference for Montenegrin society.

Emphasizing that at the core of this concept patriotism is measured not by symbols or flags but by attitudes toward the state and its laws, Milatovic said, “In practice, this requires the adoption of quality laws and the completion of the Constitutional Court.”

Regarding Montenegro’s future, Milatovic stated, “It is time to move beyond narrow interests and believe that Montenegro’s future will be a pro-European, citizen-based state founded on the rule of law.”
