MK: The target of the assassination attempt was Sergey Shoigu
Moscow, November 18 (Hibya) – According to the newspaper Moskovsky Komsomolets (MK), the assassination attempt at the Troekurovskoye Cemetery had been planned against Sergey Shoigu.
The Russian intelligence service FSB announced on November 14 that it had thwarted an assassination attempt against a high-ranking Russian official whose name was not disclosed.
MK claimed that the Ukrainian intelligence agency had targeted Russia’s Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu. The attack was reportedly planned to take place while the official was visiting the graves of his relatives at the Troekurovskoye Cemetery.
The report stated: “A sabotage group operating in Moscow on behalf of the Ukrainian intelligence services was preparing an assassination attempt against Russia’s Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu at the Troekurovskoye Cemetery.”
It was noted that Shoigu’s parents — Kuzhuget Sergeyevich and Alexandra Yakovlevna — are buried in the mentioned cemetery, as well as his sister Larisa, who died in 2021. November 12 was the anniversary of his mother’s death.
Last week, the FSB announced the arrest of three individuals: a married Russian couple — both previously convicted and drug dependent — and an illegal migrant from a Central Asian country.
