According to Steiermark police, a major operation is currently underway at the Borg high school on Dreierschützengasse in Graz. It is believed to have been a shooting incident, and the perpetrator is thought to be among the deceased.

The Steiermark police confirmed on the social media platform X that a large-scale police operation is in progress in the Dreierschützengasse area. The Cobra special unit has also been deployed. According to police, the operation was prompted by “gunfire heard in the building.”

The Interior Ministry confirmed several deaths. According to a report by Kronen Zeitung, at least eight people are dead, and there is a double-digit number of injured.

The perpetrator is believed to be among the dead. According to Kurier, police are not ruling out the possibility of a second perpetrator.

According to Austrian broadcaster ORF, the building is currently being evacuated. Police say the attack was carried out by a student.
