NASA-ISRO's NISAR spacecraft launched
Washington, June 30 (Hibya) – The U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced the launch of the NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) spacecraft from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre.
The NISAR mission, a collaboration between NASA and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), received launch approval from ISRO.
Mission and launch managers were continuing the countdown for liftoff with an ISRO Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre on India’s southeastern coast.
The NISAR mission was prepared for launch by ISRO, with the spacecraft expected to launch from the same site using a GSLV rocket.
