NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced that he had spoken with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk after a Russian missile violated Polish airspace.

In a post on social media, Rutte said that NATO and Poland activated their air and ground defense assets following the incident.

Emphasizing NATO's solidarity with Poland, Rutte stated that the Alliance would continue strengthening its level of preparedness against all threats, including missile attacks.

Rutte said the incident was one of the dangerous consequences of Russia's war against Ukraine and also condemned the latest attacks across Ukraine that caused civilian casualties.

He added that NATO would continue providing the support Ukraine needs to defend itself and stressed that the Alliance's commitment in this regard remains unwavering.
