Orban: We are heading to Russia for energy security
Budapest, 28 November (Hibya) – Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced that he is on his way to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin to secure his country’s energy supply.
Orban emphasized that Hungary’s oil and natural gas come from Russia through pipelines, making energy supply stability critical for national security.
He recalled his recent visit to Washington, where Hungary obtained exemption from U.S. sanctions targeting Russian energy sources. Now, as the next step, he is visiting Russia to ensure uninterrupted energy shipments.
Orban stated that the purpose of the visit is to guarantee safe and affordable energy supply for this winter and the coming year.
“Let’s get to work!” he concluded, highlighting the importance of the upcoming talks.
