Spain Highlights the New EU Pact for the Mediterranean
Madrid, November 28 (Hibya) – Spain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, Jose Manuel Albares, announced in Barcelona the launch of the European Union’s New Mediterranean Pact, stating that this initiative marks a new era in Euro-Mediterranean relations.
Albares said in his statement: “In Barcelona, we are implementing the EU’s New Mediterranean Pact. This pact launches a new phase in Euro-Mediterranean relations. Spain’s commitment to this pact is firm. The stability and prosperity of the Mediterranean are priorities of our foreign policy.”
He emphasized the strategic political, economic and social importance of the Mediterranean region, adding that Spain will continue to play an active role in this process.
