Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun in New York on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

In a statement, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the meeting reviewed bilateral relations and included an exchange of views on further strengthening cooperation, particularly in trade, investment and economic relations.

Dar emphasized the importance of “increasing interaction between the business communities” to identify new opportunities.

South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun, meanwhile, appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting dialogue and diplomacy in addressing regional issues.

The two ministers also highlighted the importance of the multilateral system and reiterated their commitment to working together at the UN and other multilateral platforms on issues of mutual interest.
