Pakistan Foreign Minister Dar bids farewell to UN Resident Coordinator Yahya
Islamabad, August 19 (Hibya) - Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with UN Resident Coordinator in Pakistan Mohamed Yahya, whose tenure has ended. Dar appreciated Yahya's contributions to strengthening Pakistan-UN cooperation and congratulated him on his new appointment.
Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dar held a farewell meeting with Yahya, the United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator in Pakistan, whose tenure has ended.
According to a statement by Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dar appreciated Yahya's contributions to strengthening cooperation between Pakistan and the UN. Dar also expressed appreciation for the work carried out by the UN Country Team under Yahya's leadership.
Dar congratulated Mohamed Yahya on his appointment as UN Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
Yahya, for his part, thanked Dar for the support extended to him and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during his tenure in Pakistan. He also expressed his desire to continue working closely with Pakistan in his new role.
