Palestinian Foreign Minister Shaheen met with German Foreign Minister Wadephul
Munich, February 15 (Hibya) – Palestinian Foreign Minister Dr. Varsen Aghabkyan Shaheen met with German Foreign Minister Dr. Johann Wadephul on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
Palestinian Foreign Minister Shaheen held a meeting with German Foreign Minister Wadephul within the framework of the Munich Security Conference. Palestine’s Ambassador to Germany, Laith Arafa, also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, political and on-the-ground developments in the Palestinian territories were discussed. The development of bilateral relations and the strengthening of positions regarding the Palestinian issue were also addressed.
Minister Shaheen emphasized the importance of cooperation within international efforts to sustain the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, ensure early recovery, and coordinate the reconstruction process. Reference was also made to Germany’s position regarding settlement activities, settler attacks, and land annexation plans.
The German side reiterated its support for partnership with the Palestinian Authority and for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders within the framework of a two-state solution.
