Palestinian Foreign Ministry welcomes UK's intention to recognize Palestine
Ramallah, July 30 (Hibya) - The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s announcement of the United Kingdom's intention to recognize the State of Palestine.
The ministry welcomed the announcement that the UK intends to recognize the State of Palestine in the coming September.
It described the step as a courageous recognition that paves the way for the UK to be on the right side of history.
The ministry also appreciated the UK’s position toward the Palestinian people in general and the situation in Gaza in particular, as well as its support for achieving peace in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative by enabling the State of Palestine to exercise political and legal authority over all Palestinian territories occupied in 1967.
