In a message issued on November 11 to mark Veterans Day (Den valecnych veteranu), Czech President Petr Pavel expressed his respect and appreciation for the veterans who fought for freedom and security.

President Pavel stated in his message:

“Today, on Veterans Day, we honor the courage and service of those who fought for our freedom and the safety of our society. The red poppy flowers are not only a symbol of gratitude and respect but also a way to support those who risked their lives for the good of our country. Organizations such as the Military Solidarity Fund or Post Bellum help veterans and their families, preserving the names and stories of those whose heroism must never be forgotten.”
