President Erdoğan: I welcome the ceasefire in Gaza with satisfaction
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed his great satisfaction with the outcome of the Hamas-Israel talks held in Sharm El Sheikh, which resulted in a ceasefire in Gaza.
President Erdoğan stated that he was pleased that the talks between Hamas and Israel, in which Turkey had contributed, ended with a ceasefire in Gaza.
He extended his special thanks to U.S. President Donald Trump for demonstrating the political will necessary to encourage the Israeli government to agree to the ceasefire, as well as to Qatar and Egypt for their significant support. “As Turkey, we will closely follow the full implementation of the agreement and will continue to contribute to the process,” Erdoğan said.
In his message, President Erdoğan stated:
“Likewise, we will continue our struggle until an independent, sovereign, and territorially integrated State of Palestine is established on the basis of the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. On this occasion, I extend my heartfelt greetings to my Palestinian brothers and sisters, who have endured indescribable pain for two years, fighting for life and dignity under inhumane conditions, losing their children, parents, relatives, and friends, yet never compromising their honorable stance despite all their suffering. May God be the helper of our Palestinian brothers and may He bless the souls of our martyrs and grant them paradise.”
