Prevot: I welcome the peace agreement between Congo and Rwanda
Brussels, December 5 (Hibya) – Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot stated that Belgium welcomes the peace agreement signed in Washington by the Presidents of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Rwanda, and fully supports the parties’ determined choice for peace and cooperation.

Prevot expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the United States, Qatar, and the African Union for the critical role they played in making this historic step possible.
Highlighting that “given the rapidly deteriorating situation on the ground, it is now time to act,” Prevot called for immediate de-escalation, cessation of hostilities, unimpeded humanitarian access, and full respect for the commitments made in Washington and Doha.
In his statement, Prevot added that “Belgium will continue to do everything in its power to support all efforts aimed at advancing peace, security, and shared prosperity across the region.”
