Washington, July 19 (Hibya) – U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that he met with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.

In a statement following the meeting, Rubio said he appreciated President Aoun's "courage in rebuilding his country and advancing toward peace."
Rubio said they discussed the implementation of the Tripartite Framework, adding, "The United States remains committed to supporting this effort and Lebanon's initiatives to strengthen security, promote peace, and build a better future for the Lebanese people."
