Russell: We cannot backslide in the fight against preventable diseases
New York, April 24 (Hibya) – UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell stated that vaccines save lives and that there can be no retreat in the fight against preventable diseases.
Russell noted that financial cuts have limited the ability to vaccinate more than 15 million vulnerable children against measles in countries affected by fragility and conflict.
Emphasizing that vaccines save lives, she said, “We cannot backslide in the fight against preventable diseases.”
