In a Hanukkah message, Saar said: “This year Hanukkah began with both joy and sorrow. Jews in Australia and around the world are lighting memorial candles in memory of those killed in the horrific terror attack in Sydney.”

Emphasizing the resurgence of antisemitism, Saar stated: “Antisemitism must be fought. Antisemites must be exposed,” urging governments to take action.

He added that Israel would continue to combat antisemitism decisively, saying: “We will name the situation as it is. We will not allow the normalization of hatred and persecution against Jews.”

Concluding his message, Saar said: “Light will prevail over darkness. Our people will continue to advance from strength to strength.”
