Prime Minister Dick Schoof stated that he discussed the latest developments in peace negotiations with leading European partners, the NATO Secretary General, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy.

Schoof said: “Today, I discussed the latest developments in the peace negotiations with a group of leading European partners, the NATO Secretary General, and President Zelenskiy. Ukraine and Europe, in close cooperation with the United States, are taking steps in the right direction.”

He emphasized: “It is vital that Ukraine can continue to rely on our support to defend itself against ongoing Russian attacks.”

Announcing the new government decision, Schoof stated: “Today the Council of Ministers decided to accelerate the allocation of 700 million euros in support to Ukraine.”

Recalling the additional defence contributions announced last week, Schoof added: “This support, along with the 250 million euros announced last week for the purchase of air defence systems and F-16 ammunition, once again represents a significant Dutch contribution to strengthening Ukraine’s defence against Russian aggression.”
