Brazilian President Lula da Silva stated that 2025 has stood out as a period in which progress and achievements for the Brazilian people have become institutionalized.

Thanks to the expansion of employment opportunities and rising income levels, families will spend the end of the year under more prosperous conditions, Silva said, adding:

“This development is highly justified and well deserved for citizens who have worked hard throughout the year. In 2026, an income tax exemption is expected to come into force for those with a monthly income of up to 5,000. This measure will further increase the well-being of Brazilian workers.”

Silva noted that this process creates a positive and virtuous cycle that contributes both to the overall welfare of society and to the sustainable strengthening of the Brazilian economy.
