Spanish Prime Minister Sanchez: We closed a record year in employment
Madrid, 5 January (Hibya) – Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced that employment in the country has approached the 21.9 million mark, while unemployment declined and permanent employment and female employment increased.
Spanish Prime Minister Sanchez said, commenting on employment data, that the country has concluded a record year in employment.
Sanchez said: “We closed a record year in employment, with the number of insured workers approaching 21.9 million. Half a million additional jobs were created and the number of unemployed fell by 152,000.”
Emphasizing the increase in permanent employment and women’s participation in the workforce, Sanchez added: “More open-ended contracts, more employment for women, and historically low levels of youth unemployment.”
Pedro Sanchez stated that the results achieved reflect government policies, assessing that “the actions of the progressive government are benefiting Spain.”
