Sybiha: Europe is advancing in strengthening its defense industry
Kyiv, July 30 (Hibya) – Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that Europe is making significant progress in strengthening its defense industry and that Ukraine is an important part of this effort.
European Commissioner for Defense and Space Andrius Kubilius expressed satisfaction with the strong interest shown by member states in SAFE loans.
He noted that up to €150 billion will be directed to the European defense industry, contributing to increased defense readiness. “This is a major step towards rapidly and decisively reaching our defense goals!” he said.
Minister Sybiha noted that this reflects a positive development through the activation of European defense funds via the new SAFE mechanism.
Congratulating Kubilius on his successful efforts, Sybiha added:
“Europe is progressing significantly in strengthening its defense industry, and Ukraine is a key element of this effort. This is a step in the right direction toward enhancing the continent’s self-sufficiency and stability. We also expect EU member states to use the SAFE funds to invest in Ukraine’s defense – a cost-effective investment in Europe’s long-term peace and security.”
