Sybiha: I am grateful for Canada’s unwavering partnership and leadership
Kyiv, February 25 (Hibya) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha held a meeting with his Canadian counterpart Anita Anand.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sybiha announced that he had a comprehensive discussion with his Canadian counterpart Anita Anand to further coordinate the bilateral agenda and ensure a just and lasting peace for Ukraine.
Expressing his gratitude to Canada for the important decisions taken yesterday, Sybiha said: “These steps reflect Canada’s unwavering solidarity with Ukraine. We discussed strengthening Ukraine’s energy resilience, increasing sanctions pressure (including the need to further restrict maritime services targeting Russia’s shadow fleet), and extending Operation UNIFIER until 2029.”
Sybiha also welcomed Canada’s co-sponsorship of the UN General Assembly resolution titled “Support for a lasting peace in Ukraine” and stated:
“We agreed to remain in close contact, including regarding Minister Anand’s next visit to Ukraine and coordination within the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children. I am deeply grateful for Canada’s unwavering partnership and leadership.”
