Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that exactly four years ago Russia illegally occupied the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine, the largest nuclear power plant in Europe.

Sybiha noted that videos showing occupation forces storming and bombing a nuclear facility shocked the world and said: “Since then, Russia has turned the plant into a military base and made not only Ukraine but all of Europe and the world hostages of its nuclear terrorism.” Minister Sybiha added:

“The Kremlin’s plans to restart nuclear reactors in the occupied territories are dangerous and illegal. We call on the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the entire international community to make every effort to end the Russian occupation and the nuclear risks it brings.”
