Sybiha: Russia targeted a civilian vessel
Kyiv, July 19 (Hibya) – Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that Russia struck a civilian vessel sailing through Ukraine’s maritime corridor, killing one Ukrainian maritime pilot and four crew members.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that Syrian and Indian nationals were also on board the attacked vessel, eight crew members were evacuated, and five people remain missing.
Sybiha said, “This attack leaves no room for illusions. Putin’s Russia does not care whom it kills. It makes no difference whether they are Ukrainians or citizens of another country.”
Claiming that Russia had also targeted another foreign-flagged merchant vessel in the Black Sea a day earlier, Sybiha said that the International Maritime Organization (IMO), international partners, and the governments of the relevant countries had been informed about the attacks.
Sybiha added, “Every delay in increasing pressure on Moscow costs more innocent lives.”
