Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha made a statement regarding the financial and military support package announced by the European Union for Ukraine.

Referring to the strategic importance of the decision, Sybiha said: “The European Commission’s decision to propose a €90 billion support package for Ukraine for 2026–2027 is timely and resolute. This package strengthens Ukraine’s defense against Russian aggression, ensures macro-financial stability, and guarantees the continuity of essential public services. It is a strategic investment in Europe’s security and long-term resilience.”

Also addressing the status of frozen Russian assets, Sybiha stated: “Assets belonging to Russia remain immobilized, and legal options regarding their future use remain on the table.”

Thanking EU leadership, Minister Sybiha concluded: “I thank the European Commission, in particular High Representative Kaja Kallas and Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis, for their strong political support and leadership. Europe continues to demonstrate unity and determination in standing by Ukraine.”
