Syria welcomes Canada’s decision to lift sanctions
Damascus, February 19 (Hibya) – The Syrian Arab Republic welcomed the announcement by the Canadian government that it has ended sanctions against Syria.
The Syrian Arab Republic stated that it welcomed the Canadian government’s announcement of ending sanctions imposed on Syria.
In a statement issued by the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, thanks were extended to the Canadian government and people, noting that the lifting of sanctions presents an important opportunity to open a new chapter between the two countries.
It was also emphasized that this development will serve the interests of the two friendly peoples, contribute to the recovery and reconstruction process, support the improvement of citizens’ living conditions, and help strengthen regional stability.
