U.S. President Donald Trump stated in a social media post that some NATO allies are not taking sufficient responsibility regarding threats linked to Iran’s nuclear program.

Trump said that the United States has provided substantial financial support to NATO and its allies for years, arguing that Italy and certain other countries have not played an active enough role in efforts concerning Iran.

In his statement, Trump asserted that the United States has defended its allies for many years, but does not receive the same level of support in return when needed. He added that this situation has negative consequences not only for the United States but also for the rest of the world.
