Trump: ISIS’s second global commander al-Minuki has been neutralized
Washington, May 16 (Hibya) - United States (US) President Donald Trump announced that Abu Bilal al-Minuki, ISIS’s second global commander, had been neutralized in a joint operation conducted by American and Nigerian Armed Forces.
US President Donald Trump referred to the importance of military cooperation in combating terrorism, intelligence capabilities, and the steps taken toward global security.
Sharing details about the successfully completed operation, Trump said: “Tonight, under my direction, brave American forces and the Nigerian Armed Forces flawlessly executed a meticulously planned and highly complex mission to remove the world’s most active terrorist from the battlefield.”
Providing information about al-Minuki’s whereabouts, Trump stated: “Abu Bilal al-Minuki, ISIS’s second global commander, thought he could hide in Africa, but he did not know that we had sources informing us about what he was doing.”
Trump emphasized the strategic consequences of eliminating the terrorist leader, saying: “He will no longer be able to terrorize the people of Africa or help plan operations targeting Americans. With his elimination, ISIS’s global operation has been greatly weakened.”
Expressing gratitude to the Nigerian government, Trump concluded his statement by saying: “I thank the Government of Nigeria for your partnership in this operation.”
