Trump says he has barred CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House
Washington, September 18 (Hibya) - United States (US) President Donald Trump announced that he had barred CNN, MS NOW and Politico from accessing the White House. Trump also said that “Most Favored Nation” agreements on prescription drug prices would be expanded to state Medicaid programs and that the measure could save Medicaid more than $64 billion.
US President Donald Trump announced that he had barred CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House. Trump accused the media organizations of producing “fake news” about him and his administration.
Trump said in his statement, “I am barring CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House because they constantly produce ‘fake news.’ Media outlets should not be able to continuously write or publish fabrications and lies when reporting on the President of the United States, the Trump administration or the United States.”
Trump also referred to the alleged $8 million in subscription payments Politico received from the US government during Joe Biden’s presidency, arguing that it “looks like corruption.” Trump said other media organizations would also be barred from the White House in a similar manner.
Trump also said regarding prescription drug prices, “Today, we are taking a historic step to officially extend the benefits of our Most Favored Nation agreements on prescription drug prices to state Medicaid programs across the country.”
Citing estimates from the Council of Economic Advisers, Trump said, “The Most Favored Nation agreements we are expanding to the states today will save Medicaid more than $64 billion.” Trump said states could use these resources to invest in other improvements in health care services.
