Tsahkna: Estonia is already doing its part
Tallinn, February 20 (Hibya) - Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna met with NATO Military Committee Chair Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone.
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna held talks with NATO Military Committee Chair Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, who was in Estonia for official engagements.
Referring to the importance of the meeting, Tsahkna said, “It was a real honor to meet Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone today during his visit to Estonia. We discussed the next steps to further strengthen NATO’s deterrence and defense posture against Russia, the most serious long-term threat to the Alliance.”
Recalling Estonia’s leadership in defense spending, Tsahkna stated, “It is essential that all allies move swiftly toward the goal of increasing defense spending to 5 percent of GDP, as agreed at last year’s NATO Summit in The Hague. Estonia is already doing its part.”
Tsahkna concluded by saying, “We also discussed the need to continue supporting Ukraine and maintaining pressure on Russia as the only way to achieve a just and lasting peace.”
